Meet Tina Patnode

Tina Patnode is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with over 25 years of experience providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for individuals with gastrointestinal conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Intestinal Methanogen Overgrowth (IMO), Celiac disease, and Gastroparesis.

As a GI Dietitian, Tina works with those individuals who have not received a definitive diagnosis but suffer from nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, acid reflux, abdominal bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation.

Tina has always had a dream to start her own private practice. So, that is exactly what she did! In 2018, Tina founded GI Nutrition NW, LLC and opened her office in Southwest Portland. In March of 2020, Tina began providing Telehealth to those who reside in Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona, and Colorado.

Outside of her thriving private practice, Tina is advancing her practice as an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner applying a food as medicine approach to optimizing digestive health. She successfully completed the GI Dietitian’s Roadmap Course and is a Certified Gastroenterology Nutritionist through the SIBO Academy.

Alyssa O'Brien, RDN, LD, CD [Registered & Licensed Dietitian]

Alyssa O'Brien

Alyssa has over 15 years of experience as a registered and licensed dietitian using medical nutrition therapy to improve quality of life. She has a depth of knowledge to draw upon as a nutrition coach and counselor as she has worked in various healthcare settings. Alyssa has gained expertise in GI nutrition while working at wellness clinics in Minnesota and Gastroenterology clinics in Oregon. Alyssa works with, but not limited to, the following conditions:

  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Crohn’s, Colitis
  • GERD, Acid Reflux
  • Celiac Disease
  • Gastroparesis

Alyssa practices using a functional nutrition approach to get to the root of chronic conditions to sustain long-term wellness. She believes in a whole-body approach to nutrition interventions and values mind-body connection to healing. Alyssa has completed the GI Dietitian’s Roadmap Course and is a Certified Gastroenterology Nutritionist through the SIBO Academy.

Leah Browning, RN, Patient Care Coordinator

Leah Browning

Leah is the dedicated Patient Care Coordinator at GI Nutrition NW, LLC where she serves as a vital link between our patients and providers. With a background in Nursing and Administrative Assistance, Leah brings exceptional organizational skills, warmth, and compassion to her role. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment, ensuring each patient feels valued and heard from the moment they contact the practice.

Leah manages scheduling, coordinates patient appointments, and assists with inquiries to help streamline each individual’s experience. Known for her attention to detail and approachable nature, Leah is committed to making the administrative process seamless so that patients can focus fully on their health and nutrition journey.

Outside of the office, Leah enjoys hiking, cooking new recipes and having fun with her 3 kids.
